Review for 11/29/14

Review For This Weeks Top 10!!

  1. Blank Space by Taylor Swift - A new song from the album 1989. Worked its way up to the top of the charts in two weeks. First foray into the pop genre. I enjoy this song I have listened to it a lot and not sick of it at all. Beats 7 out of 10, Lyrics 9 out 10
  2. All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor- This song 3 weeks in a row at second. I was hoping that it would either move down or hit number one already. The reason I say that is should move down the charts is because there are so many other songs that should be up their in the spot or at number one. Beats 8 out of 10, Lyrics 7 out of 10
  3. Shake It Off by Taylor Swift - Though this song has dropped down Taylor Swift still has the number one spot on the charts. I have listened to this song but it has died down a lot so the insane repetition that was being used all over the world. Has relieved me off how annoying the song was. But I really enjoy this song!Beats 9 out of 10, Lyrics 6 out of 10
  4. Animals by Maroon 5 - The song is good. BUT the VIDEO is sick. It leaves you like what was that. Creepy makes you look at Adam Levine in a whole other way. But I advise do not look watch the video. Beats 8 out of 10, Lyrics 8 out of 10
  5. Habits (Stay High) by Tove Lo - A really good song I enjoy it every word I think we should all. listen to this together at a party. But all seriousness this song really hits when you sit and listen. Beats 9 out of 10, Lyrics 9 out of 10
  6. Take Me To Church by Hozier- My song! Definitely my most played song, Great artist all around. I would love to see more music by Hozier and see him at number one soon! Beats 10 out of 10, Lyrics 10 out of 10
  7. Hot Boy by Bobby Shmurda - This song was very big at a time I don't hear about it as much. but I can see working its way up on the chart. I really think it is because of the dance.
  8. Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, & Nicki Minaj -  BANG BANG into the room! That is the one part that is always stuck in my head. Enjoyable I feel it should be pushed down further to let other artists and songs shine. I enjoy the song but just getting extremely old. Beats 9 out of 10, Lyrics 7 out of 10
  9. I'm Not The Only One by Sam Smith - I have his whole album. Enjoy his music immensely. Great artist. Song I take is about a relationship that had went south. His heart feels as if it was ripped out when he either gotten cheated on or a divorce. Beats 8 out of 10, Lyrics 9 out of 10
  10. Jealous by Nick Jonas - I have lost track of the Nick Jonas. But I can see in the past couple years he has been working on his comeback.  Very good song. We all get jealous at a point in life. Especially when you are talking to someone or with someone and their attention is redirected to someone else.Beats 9 out of 10, Lyrics 8 out of 10
Blank Space by Taylor Swift, This Weeks Number 1 on the charts.

Review Request For Phillip Phillips' New Video Unpack Your Heart!

Video Review For Phillip Phillips New Video Unpack Your Heart!

I received this request by @lhopkins1246 to check out Phillip Phillips new video for Unpack Your Heart! If you do not know who Phillip Phillips is you probably do not watch American Idol, he won season 11.

This video was really good! I enjoyed all the art in the background and animation. This video I felt fit with the animation for a really big reason. The song is about, him trying to have his significant other unpack their heart. Talks about having a person bring all their baggage no matter what it is he will still love them.It does not matter if it like a positive or negative aspect of the person, he wants all of it. To show this in the video he uses the darkness as the negative aspect and the light as the positive aspect. Him doing this I think got his point across. I really enjoyed the little cassette tape dancers thought it was extremely cool.

Beats 9 out of 10
Lyrics 10 out of 10

Thank you Lori @lhopkins1246 for the request and introducing me to a really good artist and amazing video!

Review of the Top 10 for the week of November 22,2014

Review

  1. Shake It Off by Taylor Swift- Second week in a row at number one. I really feel the reason it is still their is because it becomes extremely catchy. All and all it is a decent song still do not want to hear it anymore.  Beats -9 Lyrics- 6
  2. All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor- Second week at number two, I was addicted at first then got sick off it. Now I am re-addicted I have listened to it so much in the past 2 weeks I can recite the whole song. I enjoy it. Beats 8 out of 10 , Lyrics 7 out of 10
  3. Animals by Maroon 5- Moved up from number 4 and took over Habits (Stay High) - Tove Lo  which I had thought was going to move up on the charts. I enjoy the song Animals a lot it is a good song to work out to in my opinion. All around good song to listen to at all times. The more I listened to it I kept thinking this song can mean many things. Beat 8 out of 10  Lyrics 7 out of 10
  4. Habits (Stay High) by Tove Lo - Moved down sadly I was hoping that it would go up to number 2 or maybe number one as I really enjoy this song. It is an addicting song second most played song on my cellphone. I say listen to it you will definitely the first couple times be like meh I do not enjoy it and then BAM your going to be like this is my jam. Of course this will vary for all.  Beats 9 out of 10, Lyrics 9 out of 10
  5. Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj- Still a good song I thought by now it would have dropped down from fifth or been of the charts to begin with. It is a good song I will not deny that but it is always playing, on the radio. Beat 9 out of 10 Lyrics 7 out of 10
  6. Hot Boy by Bobby Shmurda-  Good Song it has worked its' way up on the charts. The dance to the song called the shmoney dance is more complicated then it looks.Just wanted to give a HEADS UP! But It is pretty fun to try and do it. Beat 9 out of 10, Lyrics 8 out of 10
  7.  Love Me Harder by Ariana Grande & The Weeknd - Jumped up from number 24 in a week to 7. I can clearly hear why it is a great song. Lyrics are good and the beat makes you want to just want to keep it on repeat. Ariana Grande & The Weeknd should do more songs together their voices together are amazing. Beat 9 out of 10 Lyrics 9 out of 10
  8. Take Me To Church by Hozier - Glad this song jumped from 10 to 8 but I feel it needs to be number 1!! Most played song for the past 2 weeks hands down for myself. I just love his work already have all his music. Beats 10 out 10, Lyrics 10 out of 10
  9. Black Widow by Iggy Azalea Featuring Rita Ora-  The song is good but I can see why it has dropped down. Beat 9 out of 10 , Lyrics 8 out of 10
  10. Don't Tell Em by Jerimih ft YG - Another song that had dropped down. I enjoy the song. Give me your opinion on the song. Beat 8 out of 10, Lyrics 7 out of 10

New Release, One Direction-Four! :]

Four (Deluxe Yearbook Edition)

One Direction has come out with a new album, called Four! Album comes with 16 songs. The album leads of with the single Steal My Girl. The album is available to be streamed off Spotify. I streamed the album this evening and my initial reaction is this is way better than Ariel Pink, who also released an album called pom pom. Although this is not the typical music I listen to, I enjoyed it. It is better than I had expected.  The lyrics where way better than I had thought they would be especially on the song 18. It was extremely catchy. I have listened to the whole album, my top four songs of the album are 1) Steal My Girl 2) 18 3)Act My Age 4) Change Your Ticket. The reason this album is called Four is because it is One Direction's fourth album.

Beats 7 out of 10, Lyrics 7 out of 10.

What did you think of the album?
